Book Review: Love Inspired: Her Perfect Man by Jillian Hart

My mom has gotten me interested into these books, which are Christian romance novels put out thr
ough Steeple Hill publishers, a part of Harlequin. She orders them and saves them for me when she is done with them. The stories are about people overcoming all sorts of hardships, building family bonds, relying on faith to find their perfect mate. There are no adult scenes in these books, in fact; I have even let my nine year old daughter read a few of them!

This book is one of many written about the McKaslin family, and this book features on one of the still single sisters, Rebecca. Rebecca has been loyal in her devotion to God, has earned her degree, and is now living on her on, in a condo once owned by one of her sisters. She met and fell in love with a guy named Chris, and thought that he was her perfect match, but she finds out that nothing was as she thought, when Chris starts using drugs, begging her for money, and then stalking her, for months after their relationship was over.

Her new neighbor Chad Lawson has had his own troubled life, he was a rebellious teenager, who at one time stole a car, and had an accident that seriously injured another person. Chad's grandfather took him in hand, and after a stint in juvie, Chad gave his life to the Lord. He started volunteering and working with kids in the church, to keep them on the right path. His goal was to attend seminary school, and to keep as many kids as possible from making the same mistakes that he did.

Chad and Rebecca meet, and start attending church events together. They eventually become best friends, but because Chad didn't reveal his past to her, their friendship/relationship could fall by the wayside.

To find out whether or not Chad and Rebecca overcome their problems, you will have to read the book. Not only will you find an interesting read, but maybe you will be inspired by these two people, and the scriptures found within the book.
