Book Review- Tempting a Texan by Carolyn Davidson

In this book, Tempting a Texan, written by Carolyn Davidson, a Texas bank-owner suddenly finds himself the legal guardian of a 5 year old niece that he had no idea existed. Nicholas Garvey never knew his father, other than his name, and found out that he had a sister that he never knew about, although she knew of him, but not until that sister was deceased, and her daughter was brought to him per her written request some time later.

Along with his niece, Nicholas also had to put up with her caregiver, Linnie. Linnie had been with the little girl since her birth, and had cared for her ever since. Linnie had a rough family background, and had no interest in marriage and love, or at least she thought, until she met Nicholas Garvey on the day that she delivered his five year old niece into his keeping. Nicholas convinced her to stay with the child at his home, at least until she had time to adjust to her new living situation.

While all this was going on, the child's biological father, presumed dead until this point, decided that he wanted to have custody of the child, only his intentions were not honest. He wanted to have the young tot only to lay claim to the substantial estate she had inherited, and was willing to go to any lengths to get her, even killing Nicholas and Linnie, if required.

I won't go into the ending in great detail, so as not to ruin the book for you, but I will tell you that in the end, Nicholas, Linnie, and young Amanda all get the family they have always wished for!

They say that every book you read, regardless of the type of genre, in some way imprints your life, and in this case, this book taught me that regardless of what happens, everything can be made right by finding and falling in love with the right person, the one that you are meant to be with. I have found my special someone, and hopefully, this book can bring others this same knowledge!
